What is required to rent a boat?
Driver/renter must be 21 years of age. Driver’s License (or some form of ID) and credit card
must match the individual responsible for the rental.

What are the rules for operating a rental boat?
1. All children 12 and under must wear a life jacket at all times. Life jackets are provided with your boat rental. All passengers are encouraged to wear a life jacket at all times. All
passengers must wear life jackets when tubing, skiing, wake boarding or otherwise in the water.

2. Do not swim in the area of the motor, even when it is not running. Do not allow any
horseplay on or near the boat.

3. Please do not exceed the maximum occupancy of your boat. Every head counts—even
infants. The lake patrol will count heads and enforce the law.

4. Your boat leaves the marina full of fuel. You will pay for the fuel you use when you return, similar to as when you rent a car.

5. Please make sure the ladder is in the “up” position when moving. Please do not stand when the boat is in motion.

6. Boats are fuel injected, please stop and start in neutral. Then ease the boat into gear, let it engage, then accelerate.

7. There is a “No Wake” area at the marina and near any private boat docks. Go very, very
slowly until you reach the marker buoys.

8. There is a kill switch attached near the throttle. The lanyard must be attached to the driver.  If it is disconnected the boat will not run.

9. There is a map of Lake Tenkiller on the boat. Do not go north past Snake Creek. This is
clearly marked on the map.

10. The boat has a horn on the driver’s dashboard.

11. In the event of an emergency, there is a fire extinguisher near the driver’s seat. Call the
marina immediately.

12. Remember the 150 feet rule! Stay 150’ from all marker buoys in the lake, 150’ away from all other watercraft, 150’ away from the shoreline.

13. Keep tow rope out of the propeller. Up to a $150.00 fee to replace rope and untangle from the prop!

14. No grills are allowed on boats.

15. Strayhorn Marina will not rent any watercraft to any person who appears to be intoxicated. There are no exceptions to this rule.

16. Never tow another boat or be towed by another boat. Call the marina if you need
assistance. In the unlikely event your boat has problems of any kind call the marina
immediately. Do not operate the boat with any rope entangled in the prop.

17. Return the boat at scheduled time. Please don’t make us come find you! Failure to return at the designated time will result in extra charges—$100.00 for every 15 minutes the boat is late.

18. Please leave the boat clean. Take your trash with you. We appreciate your help so much!

19. Last, but not least, have a fabulous time on Lake Tenkiller!

Is a security deposit required?
Strayhorn Marnina requires a 50% deposit at the time you rent the boat.

What is your cancellation policy?
We require 5 days notice to refund your deposit. After that time, the deposit is forfeited.

Must be at the Marina to cancel due to weather or rain!

If you decide to set sail and it begins to rain, you will not be entitled to a refund.
No reservations will be checked out if there is current weather in the area or lightening nearby.
If this occurs at your reservation time you will be given the option to reschedule on an open date or receive a full refund.

What if I’m running late?
If you are running late, please let us know. Reservations are held for a maximum of 30 minutes. After that you have forfeited your deposit.

Is it possible to extend time on a rental?
Call us to check the rental schedule. If no one else has reserved the boat, we’ll be happy to
extend your rental.

Can I bring a pet on the boat?
There is a $25 pet fee per pet.

Do you have a restroom?
We are pleased to provide you with two new handicap accessible restrooms located on the water next to our marina store.

Can we fish from the boat?
Sure! But please note that you do need to have a valid Oklahoma fishing license. You can
purchase one from the Oklahoma Parks and Wildlife website.

Can we fish from the dock?
We love to fish! As long as our clients do not complain because they’ve found their slip dirty, covered in fish scales or trash or complain of things moved or missing on their slip—it’s fine to fish. If any of the above happens we will be forced to close the dock to fishermen/women.

Can we bring food and alcohol?
Of course! Our marina store offers snack foods and soft drinks and bottled water. But, we do ask that you help us keep Tenkiller clean by making sure all trash is stowed so that it does not blow out of the boat and that you clean the boat of all trash when you bring it back to the marina. We do not allow hard liquor or glass bottles.

What else do you rent besides boats?
We rent paddleboards, kayaks, paddleboats and tubes. Check with the marina store for availability
